A 12kva Generator That Runs a Whole Property on Single Phase
Most properties do not have three-phase power and most people do not want to pay to bring it in. What they want is a single-phase machine big enough to run everything at once, quietly, for as long as the outage lasts.
The Kubota KJ-S130 delivers 12.5kVA at 240 volts, which is 52.1 amps of usable single-phase current, from a Kubota V2203 four-cylinder diesel turning at 1500rpm. That is enough headroom to stop thinking about what you can and cannot switch on.
What 52 Amps of Single Phase Power Covers
At 12.5kVA you are past the point of rationing. A large home with refrigeration, hot water, pumps, lighting and power circuits all live at once. A rural property running a bore pump, cool room and workshop together.
For commercial use it covers a shop, cafe or small clinic through an outage without shedding load or a site office and workshop running as normal. The V2203 is a four-cylinder water-cooled diesel at 1500rpm, so it does this continuously rather than in bursts.
Built for Continuous Duty
At 505 kilograms the KJ-S130 is a fixed installation rather than a portable and the design reflects it. The cabinet is weatherproof, the control panel door locks and every service point is reachable from outside.
The Deep Sea DSE4520 digital control panel monitors both engine and alternator, counts running hours and accepts a two-wire remote start for automatic changeover. The 37 litre tank runs seven hours at full load.
The alternator is revolving field, self-excited and brushless, with Class H insulation and 3.5 percent voltage regulation from no load to full load. There are no brushes to wear out.
Safety and Protection as Standard
The KJ series carries a comprehensive shutdown system as standard. The engine stops on abnormal oil pressure or water temperature, on low fuel, on alternator charge failure and on over or under voltage, frequency, current or power.
It also shuts down if the engine room door is opened or the load centre cover is removed while running. There is an emergency stop button on the outside of the cabinet.

Is the KJ-S130 the Right Size for You?
Sizing a single phase generator comes down to what starts at the same moment. At 12.5kVA the KJ-S130 covers a large home with everything live, a rural property running pumps and refrigeration alongside a workshop or a small commercial site carrying on through an outage.
