15kVA of Single Phase Power That Runs All Day and All Night
There is a point where backup power stops being an emergency measure and becomes infrastructure. At that point what matters is not peak output, it is how long the machine runs before anyone has to attend to it.
The Kubota SQ1150B delivers 15kVA of single-phase power at 240 volts, 62.5 amps and carries 100 litres of diesel in a bunded base tank for more than twenty-four hours of continuous running. At 63 decibels at seven metres it does that without anyone noticing.
Why 62 Amps and 24 Hours Is a Different Proposition
Fifteen kilovolt-amps on single phase runs a substantial property or commercial site with everything live at once: refrigeration, pumps, hot water, lighting, power circuits and a workshop, without shedding load or staging what comes on when.
The 100 litre tank is bunded to 110 percent, so a leak is contained inside the enclosure rather than on the ground. The V2203-EBG is a four-cylinder water-cooled diesel rated at 18.4kW continuous, turning at 1500rpm for a service life measured in thousands of hours.
Built Quiet and Built Compliant
The SQ Series 2 gets its noise level from an oversized muffler, a noise-absorbing duct built into the enclosure and three air intakes that let the machine breathe without letting the sound out. The result is 63 decibels under full load.
The digital control panel sits behind a locking door so every function can be read without opening it, with the emergency stop mounted outside. Engine oil, coolant, fuel filter, water reserve tank, battery and air cleaner are grouped on one side for quick inspection.
At 915 kilograms this is a fixed installation with forklift slots on both sides and reinforced skid rails. Voltage regulation holds to 1.5 percent from no load to full load with total harmonic distortion under 5 percent.
Safety and Protection as Standard
The SQ Series 2 is factory tested to AS33017 and compliant with the AS3000 wiring standard, with RCD protection on each single-phase outlet and RCBO protection on the receptacles.
A limit switch shuts the engine down if a door is opened while it is running. The shutdown system also covers oil pressure, water temperature, low fuel, alternator charge failure and over or under voltage, frequency, current and power. A battery isolator is fitted as standard.

Is the SQ1150B the Right Size for You?
At 15kVA single phase the SQ1150B suits a large rural property with pumps, cool rooms and a residence, a commercial site needing genuinely unattended backup, hospitality or retail carrying refrigeration through an outage or a solar installation that needs to ride out bad weather.
If your load is lighter the SQ1120B gives 11.2kVA in the same cabinet for less. If you need three phase, the SQ3140B at 14kVA, SQ3200B at 20kVA and SQ3300B at 30kVA all share the same bunded tank and long run time.
