The Kubota SQ3300B delivers 30kVA of three-phase power at 415 volts, 41.7 amps per phase, from a Kubota V3300-EBG four-cylinder diesel. What sets it apart from the KJ-T300 at the same output is endurance and containment: 142 litres of diesel in a bunded base tank, twenty-four hours of continuous running and 64 decibels at seven metres.
Why the Bunded Tank and Run Time Matter at This Size
At 30kVA a generator is usually a permanent installation on a commercial site and that changes what matters. A fuel tank bunded to 110 percent means a leak is contained inside the machine rather than becoming an environmental incident and a clean-up bill.
Twenty-four hours of unattended running means an overnight or weekend outage passes without anyone attending site. Combined with two-wire remote start, the machine can detect the mains failure, start itself, carry the load for a full day and shut down when power returns, with no one present at any point.
Built Quiet, Built Compliant, Built to Stay
Achieving 64 decibels from a 30kVA machine takes work: an oversized muffler, a noise-absorbing duct built into the enclosure, three air intakes and a larger slower cooling fan that moves the same air with less noise.
The digital control panel sits behind a locking door, fully readable without opening it, with the emergency stop mounted outside. Engine oil, coolant, fuel filter, water reserve tank, battery and air cleaner are grouped on one side for inspection.
At 1,135 kilograms this is a permanent installation with forklift slots both sides, reinforced skid rails and a strengthened base. Voltage regulation holds to 1.5 percent from no load to full load with total harmonic distortion under 5 percent.
Safety and Protection as Standard
The SQ Series 2 is factory tested to AS33017 and compliant with the AS3000 wiring standard, with RCD protection on each single-phase outlet and RCBO protection on the receptacles.
A limit switch shuts the engine down if a door is opened while it is running. The shutdown system also covers oil pressure, water temperature, low fuel, alternator charge failure and over or under voltage, frequency, current and power. A battery isolator is fitted as standard, with an optional charger.
