On a commercial site or a rural property, a fuel spill is not just mess, it is a compliance problem and a clean-up bill. The SQ Series 2 puts the fuel tank in the base of the machine and bunds it to 110 percent, so anything that leaks stays inside the enclosure.
The Kubota SQ3140B pairs that with 14kVA of three-phase power at 415 volts, 19.5 amps per phase and just under 25 hours of continuous running from its 72 litre tank. At 61 decibels it is also among the quietest three-phase machines available.
What a Three Phase Diesel Generator With Endurance Is For
Fourteen kilovolt-amps of three-phase power runs a working site: a compressor, a chiller, a pump set or workshop machinery, with 240 volts available off the same machine for lighting and hand tools.
The difference here is duration. Nearly twenty-five hours of unattended running covers an overnight outage, a full working day on a remote site or a stretch of bad weather on a solar installation without anyone driving out to refuel. The D1703-EBG turns at 1500rpm, so it does that repeatedly rather than once.
Built Quiet and Built Compliant
Kubota lowered noise on the SQ Series 2 with an oversized muffler, a noise-absorbing enclosure duct and three air intakes that let the machine breathe without releasing the sound. The result is 61 decibels under full load.
The digital control panel sits behind a locking door, readable without opening it, with the emergency stop mounted outside. Engine oil, coolant, fuel filter, water reserve tank, battery and air cleaner are all on one side for quick inspection.
At 780 kilograms it is a fixed installation with forklift slots on both sides and reinforced skid rails. Voltage regulation holds to 1.5 percent from no load to full load with total harmonic distortion under 5 percent.
Safety and Protection as Standard
The SQ Series 2 is factory tested to AS33017 and compliant with the AS3000 wiring standard, with RCD protection on each single-phase outlet and RCBO protection on the receptacles.
A limit switch shuts the engine down if a door is opened while it is running. The shutdown system also covers oil pressure, water temperature, low fuel, alternator charge failure and over or under voltage, frequency, current and power. A battery isolator is fitted as standard.

Sizing a three phase generator comes down to starting current rather than running load, because motors draw several times their rated current at the moment they start.
At 14kVA the SQ3140B suits a workshop, a pumping or irrigation installation, a commercial site with a compressor or chiller or any three-phase application where the bunded tank and long run time matter.
